BBH Holmes Heated Hi-Vis Hoodies - Feature Friday
Jump to
Welcome back to Feature Friday, MacMor's deep dive into the various products we carry (or those you request to hear about). This week we're looking at BBH's Holmes Hi-Vis Heated Hoodies. At MacMor, we have stocked these in Black, Yellow, and Orange, however we will be focusing on the Yellow and Orange garments as they are the most common colours used in applications where high visibility is required.
Heating Settings
The BBH Holmes Vi-Vis Heated Hoodies are an excellent piece of heated clothing. Its shell is 100% polyester anti-pill knitted machine washable fleece, which is soft and supple for maximum comfort.
To ensure you stay warm, these hoodies have 3 heat settings:
- High: 4 hours of runtime
- Medium: 8 hours of runtime
- Low: 13 hours of runtime
These figures are based on ideal conditions and can vary depending on the temperature outside, any previous usage on the battery (including wear and tear over time), and a few other variables.
With 2 heating zones, the Holmes Workwear hoodies provide heat to the chest and back giving users full upper-body coverage. What's even more impressive is its ability to noticeably begin generating heat within seconds.
Attention to Detail
There are a few other minor features that make this hoodie essential on the job site. The plastic ID badge holder is a nice touch in combination with microphone transmitter loops for clipping on a radio for quick access. Deep front pockets and handy inside pockets near the chest area provide ample space to store small tools, electronic devices or anything you need access to on the go. Also, these hoodies feature a detachable hood with two levels of snaps to accommodate a hard hat which is a nice touch.
CSA Z96-15 Standard
While the BBH Holmes Hoodies provide both comfort and flexibility on the job site, they also boast the CSA Z96-15 Class 2, Level 2 Standard for yellow and orange (black is rated for Class 1, Level 2). This provides full coverage of the upper torso - front, back, and sides featuring the highest level of retroreflection.
This plays a huge factor in visibility in darker environments as retroreflective strips return light to the source making the user more visible. This is necessary for medium to high-risk environments such as areas where traffic is moving at a minimum of at least 40 Km/hr.
HVSA - Know Your Needs
High Visibility Safety Apparel (HVSA) is a major component of workplace safety because it allows workers to be seen no matter the conditions. By increasing visibility, you can prevent serious injuries and even death. By understanding the environment you are working in and performing a risk assessment, you can develop a better understanding of your needs.
